1909
Everything started in 1909. This was the year when Karl Esslen took over as General Representative for German sales for the leather care product Collan Olja. Together with the brothers Paul and Walter Salzenbrodt, he founded the COLLONIL brand.
At the outset, nobody anticipated that from these beginnings a large company with a long tradition would grow, a company which today is internationally renowned as a leading brand in the field of shoe and leather care. In the meantime, the company can be proud to have more than 100 years of experience and to have gained an optimal level of expertise in the care of leather goods. On the occasion of its centenary, the Salzenbrodt company developed a range of products which acknowledges the foundation year by using the name COLLONIL 1909. This range distinguishes itself through specially formulated products containing carefully combined treatment properties and a subtle scent of cedar and sandalwood.
The tie-in to cosmetic goods is deliberate. The nostalgic product series is the perfect anti aging range for shoes, bags, garments and other leather goods. The high quality packaging design plays with warm contrasts of softly matt green tones and a golden shimmering look. It evokes an association with love of fine leather and the finest craftsmanship.
